The first step involves deciding for which BOXX, case, drawer or SR drawer a tool tray inlay is to be created.
Record the tools
Photograph the tools in the position in which they will subsequently lie in the foam inlay and then upload the image.
Design the inlay
Optimise the layout of the tools, add the grip recesses and labels – configured to meet your individual needs.

Conveniently download, print and start right away
Simply download your preferred photo underlay and print out the pdf. Set your printing settings to print at 100% scale. The printout will then have the true size in relation to the BOXXes and you can start ‘equipping’ it. For safety, we have inserted a measure of control on the pressure pad at the top – just measure. If this is correct, you can immediately start digitizing your tools and devices.

With the new online service mySortimo inlay I have taken the opportunity to finally provide clarity in my Sortimo WorkMo. The initial scepticism about whether the whole thing would work without specifying the dimensions of the tool and fits in immediately evaporated when I put my tools in when I arrived. Absolutely precise! The only important thing is to photograph the tools cleanly on the photo base (without shadows) and to pay attention to the correct distance when taking pictures. What is the smallest radius that can be cut?
What is the smallest radius that can be cut?
The smallest radius that can be cut is 2.25 mm (R=2.25 mm).
What is the smallest width that can be cut?
The smallest width that can be cut is 4.5 mm.
How deep is it possible to cut?
Right down to 5 mm from the base of the foam. With an inlay height of 40 mm, it is therefore possible to cut a maximum of 35 mm down into the foam.
How precisely fitting is the cut ‘pocket’?
When using tools specifically entered in the configurator, the tools can be easily removed and do not ‘stick’ in the foam.
What are the maximum foam dimensions?
We provide standard lengths of up to 900 mm and widths of up to 600 mm. The height of the foam is between 30 and 90 mm.
Are there different types of foam?
mySortimo inlay foam inlays are produced exclusively from LD45 foam with a bulk density of 45kg/m³. The two-tone inlays consist of a blue base material with a black top layer.
Can I laser words into the foam?
The configurator lets you add individual words and letters by positioning text fields. To do so, go to menu item 2. Shapes, handles and texts and position a text field where you want it to be.
How dimensionally stable are the rigid foams used by Sortimo?
Compared to conventional PU foams, such as the soft convoluted foam often used in cases, our rigid foams are much more dimensionally stable, more ageing-resistant and naturally very much firmer.
What are the degassing and migration values?
Our PE foams are physically foamed and so have virtually no migrations and degassing compared to conventional PU foams.
Are there other alternatives apart from the foams specified in the configurator?
Currently only 100% perfectly fitting foam inlays are offered for our Sortimo containers using the mySortimo inlay configurator.
What is the standard delivery time?
Your foam inlay will generally be delivered within 10 working days from the date of order.
Can I reorder configured foam inlays?
Yes. Use the Inlay Management section in your mySortimo platform account to manage your saved configurations and edit and reorder foam inlays you have already ordered.

With mySortimo inlay, we offer the ability to customise a foam insert to store your tools the way you choose. mySortimo inlay can be customised into Sortimo BOXXes, cases and drawers. In just a few steps, tailor-made foam inserts with optimum fit can be created in the configurator.
How can you design the tool box foam inserts yourself?
You can easily design your own tool inserts. To do this, simply caption existing tools using a smartphone or digital camera and design the interior of the container using various alignment and positioning functions. The management of the tool box foam inserts are made in the mySortimo account, where the mySortimo inlays can be saved, adjusted or re-ordered.
How easy is the configurator for tool box foam inserts to use?
In the first step, you select in the configurator the BOXX you would like to have. After you have selected the BOXX, you can take a photo of the tool. The system will recognise the tool and size of tool being uploaded. After uploading the photo you can design and assign it yourself, as it is most suited. In the last step the tool insert is checked and ordered.
What are the advantages of Sortimo tool box foam inserts?
Due to the two-colour combination of the blue base body and black top layer, missing parts and tools can be quickly identified. This prevents the loss of expensive tools and saves unnecessary replacement and additional costs. In the robust foam inlay all tools are protected against damage.
