E-mobility at Sortimo is based on three essential pillars:
Expertease in the conversion of electric-vehicles
For conversion and installation work on vehicles with high-voltage systems, legislation requires high-voltage training. Sortimo installation personnel are trained in accordance with the legal requirements and beyond for the required qualification levels and have the necessary special equipment to be able to work on high-voltage vehicles safely and without accidents. The Sortimo mounting concept does not require drilling through the vehicle body in the floor area thanks to the fastening on our Sobogrip floor. This prevents damage to the high-voltage components.Â
Consultation on the transition from conventional LCV's to EV's
Sortimo is clearly behind e-mobility and is in close contact with commercial vehicle manufacturers. For our customers, this means that we are happy to provide advice when it comes to switching from conventional drives to electric vehicles. With intelligent solutions for cargo space utilisation, we are there to help our customers create at least the same level of functionality in the electric vehicle as they are used to from other drives.
Charging infrastructure
With a current total of 72 charging points, the Sortimo Innovation Park Zusmarshausen (SIZ) is one of the largest and modern charging parks in Europe and the largest charging park in Germany.
Located directly on the A8 motorway exit Zusmarshausen west of Augsburg, the charging park is ideally situated directly on the south-west tangent between Stuttgart and Munich – a popular test route for the automotive industry. With the completion of the first construction phase, travellers have access to an e-charging park with mostly covered and barrier-free charging stations as well as rest, recreation, shopping and parking facilities.
Visitors to the innovation park benefit from fast charging of their vehicle thanks to sophisticated DC charging technology, in which charging with direct current instead of alternating current enables optimal energy efficiency. Different customer needs can be met thanks to differentiated power levels from 35 to 300 kW. The charging times are between 15 and 45 minutes.
